Our Association’s Code of Ethics

All professional codes can be considered quasi-public because of the effect they may have on legal verdicts throughout litigation. Numerous states embrace certifying associations’ codes of principles, in doing so forming those requirements as public codifications. Failure to comply with a code can, in some professions, result in suspension from the profession.

The AMA’s Doctrines of Medical Ethics, as an example, are not regulations per se, however the optimum punishment for infraction of the principles is expulsion from the AMA. In addition, the ABA’s Model Rules of Professional Conduct provide proof of expert requirements of dedication and care, and they become directly enforceable public law when they or their variations are followed as binding upon attorneys admitted to practice within a state or in Clearwater.
